During halftime of the football game on Friday (9/11), the Ringneck Golf Team was honored for their exceptional performance last season that culminated with a 1A State Championship. The Ringnecks won multiple tournaments last season, with standout performances by players Kenley Gugelman and AJ Deges who both received 1st Team All-State Honors, as well as Chase Bell who received an All-State Honorable Mention. During the State Tournament the Ringneck's varsity roster placed exceptionally high, with the entire team placing in the top 30 out of 91 golfers.

Coach Don Newell was also recognized for his leadership during the 2026 season. Over the summer he was awarded with Kansas Coach of the Year for boys golf by the Kansas Coaches Association. The Ringnecks return 5 of the 6 players from the 2026 state team. They also have promising young talent eager to step in and compete for a varsity spot. The team hopes to continue improving and become back-to-back champions in the 2027 season. Congratulations Ringnecks!!
